Hi, I was wondering if you could address how a streaming device & SmartTV's compare? I am looking at a new TV and I want to make sure that I can get everything I am looking for with the setup before jumping in and buying everything. Which will be more flexible to upgrade in the future? Do SmartTV's get software updates?

I am looking at the Panasonic ST & GT models. I watch a lot of sports and I have heard that the plasmas are still best for sports.
